Employment

Southwest Raft & Jeep

So you need a job? We could use your help!

Thank you for your interest in the employment opportunities at Southwest Raft and Jeep, Inc. We believe the outdoor industry to be one of the most rewarding jobs out there. Really, who doesn’t want to work outdoors all day? We are seeking motivated and energetic employees who fit in with our business model and goals for future expansion. This means that not only are there opportunities during the late spring and summer months, but there are other opportunities that could present themselves as well. While we look for employees to do a great job for us, we like to help them achieve their dreams too. Let’s see where we can both help each other excel. All employees are eligible for our Pro Purchase Program. You receive 20% off most items we have access to (there are some exclusions). You will have access to inflatable kayaks and paddle boards in your off time in order to enjoy the outdoors. You will also have the opportunity to participate in a few of the private raft trips that we do for fun on our own time. These trips are on a few other rivers within a few hour radius; some are Class II/III, and some are Class IV/V!

Office Staff We are hiring full and part-time office and sales reps. Things can be hectic in the office and we need someone who can handle the pace while providing great customer service. You may be the first person our clients see when they walk in the door and you need to have a positive attitude, be presentable, have an outgoing personality, and be knowledgeable about what we do (don’t worry, you will get great training)!

You will be responsible for booking trips, assisting with water rentals, and helping sell whitewater gear and equipment. Team members may assist with river photography and social media work as well.  This is a fast-paced environment and those with an interest in business and/or finance excel in this role. The right person can advance quickly!

Our company’s mission is to encourage people to enjoy the outdoors. This includes our staff who have access to our standup paddle boards, kayaks, and river tubes during their days off.  We also offer employee discounts on tons of outdoor gear in our retail shop.

Compensation for these positions will be based on a few factors including attitude and ability, commitment and reliability, and experience.  These positions are eligible for our end of season bonus.

Whitewater Guide – We are hiring full and part-time guides. We employ guides who love what they do, whether you are a first year guide or have 20 years in the industry. Our guides come from all walks of life and geographic locations. You must be respectful to your fellow guides or you just won’t make it here. Another important aspect of being a guide is a willingness to learn. We like guides who have sought out additional training on their own and we encourage you to do so (ask us how we can help). You also must enjoy people and be great with kids! Every day as a guide is a new experience and we ask that you be able to embrace that. Something else we look for is the desire within yourself to better the quality of life of those around you, whether they are our clients or your fellow staff members.

Coming in from out of state? Ask us about transferring your Raft Guide credentials over to the State of Colorado. We have an excellent bonus program for experienced guides willing to sign a seasonal contract.

Bus Drivers / Photographers – We are hiring both full and part-time positions bus drivers for the 2024 summer season.

Drivers must possess a CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements. If you do not have a CDL and would like to obtain one, ask us how we can help!

Driving a bus with new people every day is a great experience. What a way to mix things up! You will need a positive attitude and a willingness to laugh every day! Duties include daily vehicle inspection, refueling raft vehicles, dropping off and picking up guests at the river put in and takeout.  Drivers will safely transport guests, guides and gear using vehicles in our fleet. These vehicles range from 15 passenger vans up to 65 passenger school buses. Vehicles will be equipped with a trailer to transport rafts and other gear to and from the river put-ins and take-outs.

Attributes we look for in our drivers include having a good attitude and reliability. Drivers are eligible for our end of season bonus program.
