Each week, we will be sharing exciting and informational content on our blog regarding our services, the outdoor activity industry and other topics relevant to your interests. Rafting Trips Durango

Looking for the best whitewater rafting trip in Durango? That’s us! We offer a wide variety of guided rafting and kayak trips ideal for you, your family, your friends or youth group.  We are also able to accommodate tour groups, family reunions, weddings, and corporate events. Come check us out for your next water rental and get into a river tube, inflatable kayak, stand-up paddle board, or paddle cat today! We offer 2-hour and 4-hour guided rafting trips. 2 Hour Rafting Trips

You can join us for a family friendly trip down the Lower Animas River to experience Class III rapids while learning about Durango’s rich history along the way.  We will guide you down the river in a paddle raft (a faster, more exciting way to go) through the rapids of Baby Smelter, Smelter, Corner Pocket, Ponderosa and Clock Tower!  This is a great trip for everyone and we guarantee you’ll get wet. 4 Hour Rafting Trips

Our four-hour rafting trip is our most popular trip and is for those who want more time on the river. This four-hour excursion through Durango is perfect for families or friends looking to unplug from the world and connect with one another. You will learn the history of Durango as we go and have plenty of time to play. For the first half of the trip, you will experience the Class III rapids of Baby Smelter, Smelter, Corner Pocket, Ponderosa and Clock Tower!  Afterward, we will stop at Serious Texas BBQ for lunch and then continue down the river for a relaxing float.  BOOK NOW!  More trip details:

Water Rentals

At Southwest Raft and Jeep, we can accommodate your water rental needs. We offer stand-up paddle boards, river tubes, inflatable kayaks, and Paddle Cat rentals.

Stand-Up Paddle Boards (SUP)

Have you been itching to get on a SUP? Now is your chance! You can rent an inflatable SUP from us for an all day or multiple day rental. We will fill you in on all of our favorite SUP spots. We carry boards by NRS, SOL Paddle Boards, Red Paddle Co, and Glide SUP! We also have the necessary hardware to attach your SUP to your vehicle for transport if needed. Details:

• Price: $ 28 (1/2 day) and $35 (Full day).  Multiple day discount available.
• Rental Includes: SUP board, travel bag with pump, and paddle
• Extras: PFD/Life Jacket $5 or Booties and Wetsuit $12

River Tubes

Low water giving you the blues?  Forget the raft and grab a tube! Tubing down the Animas River is fun for the whole family, especially when combined with a picnic lunch.  Our heavy duty river tubes are made from the same material as our commercial rafts and are nearly indestructible!  Details:

• Price: $15 medium duty tube, $20 Rocktabomb tube

• Extras: Shuttle available for groups of 10 or more for $5/person

Inflatable Kayaks

Get out and experience Durango’s local waterways with a single or double inflatable kayak.  Enjoy one of the local lakes or go down the river for your own whitewater kayak trip. Details:

• Price: $35/day for single kayak, $50/day for double kayak. Multiple day discount available.

• Rental Includes: inflatable kayak, pump, patch kit, personal flotation device (PFD), paddle and helmet

• Extras: Booties and Wetsuit $12

Jeep Rentals

Did you know that Southwest Colorado has over 500 miles of Jeep trails to offer? At Southwest Raft and Jeep, we want to put you behind the wheel of a Jeep that provides you means to explore all of this wild and scenic beauty – that is why we offer Jeep rentals! You can drive back into history and visit ghost towns and historic mining camps. When you take your Jeep rental out you have the opportunity to witness amazing panoramic views, beautiful waterfalls, stunning wildflowers and many high mountain lakes and rivers! Jeep rentals are a great way to hit the roads of Colorado and explore all it has to offer with the freedom of the wheel in your hands – especially great for out-of-towners!

We offer half-day and full day Jeep rentals along with free mapping services to ensure you make it safely to your intended destination. Note: We are are open on Sundays seasonally.  If you have a Jeep reserved on a Sunday when we are closed, you can pick up your Jeep on Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m. and return it on Sunday evening.  We will notify you if this option applies to you.  RESERVE YOUR JEEP RENTAL NOW! • Our Jeeps: All of our low mileage Jeep Wrangler rentals include air conditioning, automatic transmissions, oversized 10 ply tires and lower 3:73 gears (to help you get up the mountain)

• Popular Jeep Trails: Alpine Loop, Animas Forks, Clear Lake, Corkscrew Pass, Imogene/Ophir Loop, Stony Creek Pass, Yankee Boy Basin, Kennebec Pass, Endlich Mesa, Middle Mountain, Old Lime Creek and Bolam Pass

• Rental Requirements: Must be at least 25 years of age, have proof of insurance (declaration page showing comprehensive and collision coverage), a current and valid driver’s license and a major credit card

• 1-2 days: $169 per day
• 3-4 days: $152 per day
• 5+ days: $143 per day

Jeep Wrangler 4 door (5 passengers)

• 1-2 days: $195 per day
• 3-4 days: $175 per day
• 5+ days: $166 per day

Off Season Jeep Rental Pricing is as follows:

Jeep Wrangler 4 door (5 passengers)

• 1-2 days: $175 per day
• 3-4 days: $160 per day
• 5+ days: $145 per day

Southwest Raft and Jeep Retail Shop

At Southwest Raft and Jeep, we have a great whitewater retail store that sells rafts, rafting and fishing frames, inflatable kayaks, stand up paddle boards, oars, paddles, coolers, dry boxes and just about anything else you would need to have fun out on the water! We are a dealer for several retail companies. While we cannot carry everything in our shop, we can get you almost anything you need from our dealers. Please take note of our cancellation and refund policy: All reservations are required to be paid in full at the time of booking. Any reservation cancelled with at least 72 hours notice will receive a 90% refund. Any reservation canceled with less than 72 hours notice will not receive a refund. No calls/no shows will not be issued refunds.
